Transylvanian gastronomy: Farm to table ingredients & slow cooking in a white barn

After the Saxon house restoration we turned our attention to the white barn, rebuild by the last French – Romanian owners around the time Viscri was declared a Unesco World Heritage site.

We converted the old buffalo stables into a kitchen and the hay stacking area into a dinning area, furnished and decorated with restored  Transylvanian pieces.

Behind the nowadays barn-restaurant there is a beautiful orchard where you can relax while enjoying authentic or reinvented Transylvanian recipes using farm to table ingredients and local produce. From the orchard there is a pathway that can lead you on a remote road to the fortified church.
